This explains what we do with your personal information when you use this website or get in touch with us. We are Arnotts CHP Ltd, company number 11645505, trading as Arnotts & Co. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect
When you fill in a form on this site we collect your name, phone number, email address, the postcode or location of the job, what you want doing and anything else you type into the message box. You can attach photographs of the job if you want to, and we collect those too.
If you ring us or email us we keep a record of the conversation and the details you give us.
Our website also collects basic technical information automatically, like the pages you looked at and roughly where in the country you are. That comes from Google Analytics cookies, and there is a separate cookie policy that explains them and how to turn them off.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry, price the work, do the job and keep in touch about it. That is the whole of it. We do not sell your details to anyone and we do not pass them to anyone who is not working on your job.
In legal terms, we process your information because we need it to take steps at your request before entering a contract, or to perform a contract with you, and because we have a legitimate interest in running the business and keeping proper records of the work we have done.
Who sees it
Our own team. Where a job needs it, the manufacturer or supplier handling a warranty claim or a part.
The website is hosted in the UK. Form submissions are stored in the website database and emailed to the office. Email goes through our email provider. We use Google Analytics to count visits to the site, and Google may process that data in the US under the UK’s approved safeguards for international transfers. Apart from that, we do not transfer your information outside the UK or the European Economic Area.
We will also hand over information where the law requires it, for example gas safety records requested by the Health and Safety Executive or a Gas Safe inspection.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept for two years and then deleted.
Records of work we have carried out are kept for six years after the job, because we may need them for the guarantee, for tax, or to answer a query about the installation. Gas safety records and electrical certificates are kept for as long as the relevant regulations require.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or object to us using it. Email or ring the office and we will sort it out, normally within a month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top.
