It started with a boiler breakdown over Christmas.
That’s usually when you find out what a contractor is actually like. We got out to them, got it sorted, and eight years later we’re still the people they ring.
What we’ve done there
Boilers replaced, boilers repaired, and commercial and domestic boilers serviced year in year out. Leaks fixed on cast iron, steel and copper pipework. Toilets and urinals replaced. A gas cooker fitted, a dishwasher fitted, taps repaired.
Big jobs and small ones. Nobody at St James’s has to work out who to ring for what.
The bit that matters most
Gas safety inspection. It’s the least visible thing we do there and the most important.
That means checking combustion, flue integrity, ventilation, the safety systems and the soundness of the gas pipework. Not a glance and a certificate. A proper look at whether the thing is safe to keep running in a building full of people.
Working on an old building
The pipework and radiators in a building like St James’s can be very old, and that changes how you approach a job.
We inspect before we start, not after. Old systems don’t take kindly to being disturbed, and a repair in one place can easily cause a problem in another if nobody’s looked first. So we look first, then we tell you what we’ve found, then we agree what we’re doing.
That’s the difference between fixing something and creating the next job.
